Description: Leatherneck Steakhouse is located on the 12th floor of the Marines' Memorial Club & Hotel, a historic military club and hotel. The restaurant serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday nights with live piano music in a very romantic ambiance with candlelight and black and white linens. The views of the city and Union Square are spectacular. The food is gourmet contemporary American cuisine with a good offering of steaks and seafood and at least one vegetarian alternative. Sides and desserts are amazing. There is an extensive wine list and a full bar.

“Best Kept Secret”
Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

If you want brilliant views, great service and a simple but well planned menu. This is it, can't believe we were dining with such views on a Friday night. A gem!

“Superb meal, spectacular view!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

Located on the top floor of the Marines' Memorial Club, this is a special place! The beef dishes are uniformly excellent, as is the service. We enjoyed the fine meal, and the live piano music was a welcome treat! We will return!

“Fabulous Place in the Heart of the City”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

I stumbled upon this place and at first thought you had to be a serviceman to dine there. The hostess said the restaurant was open to the public so we went ahead and got a table. The view was unbelievable, several floors up you can see the city and the water below.

The food was great, we shared the ahi tuna appetizer and it was very fresh and well seasoned. I had a steak for dinner and it was great, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The sides were generous and the prices were very fair for the area.

It is worth a trip and it rarely has a wait since most people arent aware it is there.

“Hidden Gem with View and Piano Lounge”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

We found this restaurant by happy accident. It is located on the 12th floor of the Marine Hotel on Sutter. The food was terrific. The service was impeccable and the price was 60% of what you would expect to pay for a good steakhouse in the City.

Lovely piano music, a full bar, and a view of Union Square and most of San Francisco! Reservations are necessary and there is a very strict dress code for dinner (unless you are a Marine, of course) so no casual dining but don't miss this experience!
