I really liked this place. It was a casual atmosphere with great food. They also serve a wonderful breakfast. I would definitely return.

With two locations in SF and another in Berkeley, Herbivore is a beautifully-designed restaurant, though informal and inviting. Fully vegan, it also tries to use organic ingredients whenever possible. It has an eclectic menu, including grilled vegetables, salads, tacos and burritos, pad thai, pasta dishes, homemade veggie and tempeh burgers, falafel, yummy dipping sauces, smoothies, juices, wines, and much more, all at very reasonable prices. Many of their “ethnic” dishes, however, are generally not as good as their American food.

We love to meet both veg and non-veg friends there for a meal, go with family, or just by ourselves for a nice, healthy, hearty, delicious, and affordable meal. It is one of our “go to” places and we do so often. Herbivore is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in SF and certainly the one with the best value.

In the Alamo park area which is not a well trodden route for a tourist. Excellent gluten free and vegan food. The service was excellent despite it being a Friday night and extremely busy. There was a mixture of world foods notably south east Asian and Latin American. Excellent value for money - we paid $60 for 2 people ( including a sizeable tip) for 3 courses and drinks (including 1 alcoholic drink). A fun and tasty dining experience. The place was full of the locals which is a good sign.

The basil pesto vegetable tofu scramble was spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes was AMAZING. Best scrambled tofu I've ever eaten. French toast...amazing. Sausage biscuit (more like a sausage wellington)...also amazing. The juices were good too - we had a green juice drink and a lemon, ginger & cayenne drink...both really tasty. Really friendly service too. Go there now.

I love very good vegan or vegetarian food. Beginning to tire of the reliance on meat substitutes and soy. Herbivore tries to hard to replicate and make vegetarian options of meat dishes. Maybe that's what people want. I would like to be surprised. The service however is excellent. We had a lovely warm helpful waitress. Not going back in a hurry.
