I eat here regularly because of the great quality food and as far as Chinese restaurants go, the servers are relatively friendly. It's white table cloth so this is a step up from most all the dim sum restaurants in the area.

I also like that they take reservations for large tables.

First time for dim sum and staff very helpful. Food was excellent, warm and fresh. We went early as per reviews and had no trouble getting seated.

The concierge at my hotel said that this was the best dim sum in Chinatown. We had a reservation so walked right in - there was a 30-40minute wait on the side walk. The dim sum was average (I'm from Vancouver which has a very large Chinatown of its own) but pricier than I'm used to. Also, at home most dim sum plates have 4 servings on them but this place had 3 which proved to be awkward for the 4 of us trying to eat lunch.

We like Dim Sum and staying in a Hotel 3 blocks from this restaurant, it was preferable than the usual American Breakfast a Hotel serves up.
We got there at the open and are glad that we did.The restaurant filled up and the waiting line was out the front door. Out came the carts. The dishes were great. there is the usual "cast of characters" baos, buns and dumplings, but these were so well made and filled with the stuffings that bring you back again and again. The BBQ Pork bun, hot out of the Oven with great proportions. the Shrimp rice wrapped were big succulent specimens. they did lettuce cup a la Mr. Chows with huge scoops of fillings. They even used a pinking shear to round out the lettuce leaves.
But what sold us was the service. Early on, we asked a server for the custard cakes. She said that they do not come out for at least a 1/2 hour more. Well, 20 minutes later, a manager brought us out, fresh from the oven the custard cakes.
Prices are fair. We stuffed ourselves for $60 including tip. A 1/3 of the patrons are Asian locals, a 1/3 non-asian locals and a 1/3 tourists.

After the mysterious disappearance of Harbor Village many years ago, I have finally found one of the best dim sum restaurants in SF. Great selection, all served hot and fresh. There is a constant flow of carts and waitresses - service was a bit lacking for water & tea.

Crowded every time I go with a line out the door.
