We ate here the 1st time because it was close to our hotel, and found out later that it's the #1 Japanese restaurant in San Francisco. We didn't eat at any others, so can't compare them, but this restaurant was so good, we ate here 2 nights in a row. We had the noodle soups one night (one with Tempura which was excellent) and Teriyaki dinners the next night, and they were excellent. We don't eat Sushi for meals, but there were lots of folks there who were, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Since we walked by many times during our week there, we can say that there was always a crowd at lunch and dinner time, always a good sign for a restaurant. It's only 3 blocks up from Powell Street, and the #2 and #3 buses stop right in front of the restaurant on Sutter Street, so it's convenient from most parts of the city.
