Description: Our Steaks are Prime, Our Portions Big & Our Drinks Stiff. Since the opening of the first Bob’s Steak & Chop House in Dallas, Texas in 1993, the name “Bob’s” has been synonymous with a great steakhouse experience. Building on the reputation earned in the original Dallas location, Bob’s is located in San Francisco, within the Omni San Francisco Hotel. We are examples of the traditional American Prime Steakhouse, combining simple elegance, a lively atmosphere, big drinks, fine wines and large cuts of the finest prime steaks, chops and seafood.

Breakfast is phenominal, portions are huge!

For dinner the bone in steak was really tasty, the filet was a bit dry - the sweet carrot that comes with it is very odd...

Saturday night and this is actually art of the Omni Hotel. Slow service. Sterile environment and crappy table. Ordered the set menu plus wines. Starter took 40 minutes to arrive but did have the most ridiculously large loaf first. Starter ok 2 scallops plus mushrooms and some chewy meat. Main of halibut totally tasteless fish. I'd say just on the turn. Definitely not fresh. Dessert just a slice of a big cheesecake. Nothing special. Wines ok. Bill too high at $127 with a tip. Not worth it.

Visiting San Francisco and staying at the Omni. Dinner at Bob's was highly disappointing. My wife started with the sautéed mushrooms, ate two and left the rest. Nobody questioned who she didn't eat 90% of her appetizer. I had the Tomato and Onion Salad which was decent. My wife ordered the Duck and I had the 9oz Filet. The duck was tough and inedible. The Filet was charred on the outside, raw inside and certainly not medium rare. A slightly fatty taste and not high quality meat. The sides were not hot and nor well prepared. Mediocre service did not help the evening. The Omni, a lovely hotel could do a lot better.

I've eaten some of the best steak in the country over the past 6 months. From Lugers to David Burke's and St. Elmos to Keene's in Manhattan. Bob's Bone-in Ribeye is by far the best steak of them all! Always a must when I come into town.

Fairly pricey but worth it, best steak I have had in a long time. Surroundings are charming and tasteful, staff excellent.
