We were walking from China town through North Beach and stopped here for lunch. It was very pleasant. We were seated at the window had a great bottle of wine and the food was very good. The pasta was well done and tasty the sand dabs were very good. I have never been here for dinner but I would recommenced it for lunch.

the meal was wonderful, with everything (wine/coffee/dessert) the total was approaching $200 for 2 people but if you want a really nice evening out in a quiet restaurant, this is the place to go

This is the 3rd time I have been there and the 2nd time I have ordered the ravioli. It is wonderful, trust me.
The escargot was good. Not great, but good. The bread could have been warmer too. We have recommended this place to everyone and it is worth going, but it seemed like this trip it was just not top notch like it was before. Our guests meals were good, not great. The server, Manuel is very sweet and high energy but a bit to hard to understand if you don't pay attention!

Just wanted a good Italian meal for our last night in San Francisco. This place was not very good. The food was very plain, basic, boring. The service was not great at all and the restaurant has no charm at all. Just set up to fit in as many foolish tourists as possible. :( Don't bother.

* it was a busy Friday night but ...

Good point: they have valet service if your driving.

The waiter took awhile (15min) to tell us the specials and take order.

He had to be told twice for butter, and for iced tea. He also charged for a goose and cranberry when it was house vodka.

The veal ossobucco special was not worth it, the polenta was hard cornbread.

Seasoned veggies was just one side of broccolini.

With that said, my lasagna was delicious and the mozz n tomato special (barratto? mozz from Italy) was great.

I wouldn't go again. The valet service was a life saver on a Friday night though.
