“A novel experience but nothing to write home about”

This is a unique restaurant - everything comes with garlic. First you get a bread basket with garlic pesto that incredibly strong. Main courses range from chicken baked with 40 cloves of garlic, some subtler garlic flavours such as the lamb. There's a garlic flavoured wine (nice at first, but not something you can drink a lot of) and garlic ice-cream for after. It was well worth a visit, and I'm glad I went, because of the unusual foods and atmospheres, but there are some finer eateries in SF.

We went for lunch,in a group of six,we had a real mix of food, from meatloaf to the daily soup, The waitress was great, service excellent. The decor in the resturant is so fun,we had a ball! Be sure and try the authentic garlic soup, for dipping their home made bread. It is really a fun place to go.

“Not as good as we had heard”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We were a bit disappointed with our visit to the restaurant. We had heard rave reviews but we found the food to be good but not great. Service was excellent but out of 4 of us only one meal was really tasty. The rest was quite bland.

“Awesome aroma and pleasant meal”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We had heard of this restaurant before our first trip to San Fran, but when our Hop On Hop Off bus tour guide mentioned it as his favorite place, we decided we wanted to give it a try, and our group of 4 are glad we did. Our dinners included sole, ribs, pork chops and chicken/asparagus pasta. We had opportunity to share our thoughts with a guest at the next table who asked about our meals as he looked over the menu. Each of us gave good marks for our respective dish. Another guest was obviously enjoying the Garlic Steamed Clams. We sat by a open window, so we also enjoyed the view of the street traffic and the people.
