“Enjoyable ambiance; decent food and service”
Reviewed October 5, 2013 via mobile

Enjoyed sitting outside on a lovely evening. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Food was decent - not a great meal by any means but it was fine. Prices were ok. About what I would have expected for SF. I probably wouldn't go again - if only to try other restaurants.

“Good quality Italian cuisine at decent prices”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

The Brindisi is a bit hidden away down an alley close to Chinatown entrance Gate. Don't let the approach put you off, it is neighboured by a number of other restaurants but this one had a better fish menu than its adjacent ones.

With the kitchen being open to view, you can see that your meal is being individually prepared for you although the evidence of your palate should be enough. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and wasn't ripped off!

“Pleasant Seafood Place on Belden Place”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

The restaurants on Belden Place all share the outdoor space on the alley (covered with cloth when the weather is a little less than ideal as it often is). Brindisi is focused on seafood and does it very well. They have a honey-roasted eggplant pizza that makes a very nice shared starter. And they have a number of seafood pasta dishes. One, which I did not try but seemed popular came with a crust cover and the one I did try had a nice spicy sauce and a good collection of well prepared seafood.

Ok... So go listen to the Cheese Shop sketch first.. The upshot is that a venue famous for its pizza ran out of mozzarella... Although of the two pizzas chef would still make one of them was the four cheese one... Presumably with a side or irony... That aside we had an aforementioned four cheeses and a meatball mushroom pizza both of which were light crispy and flavorful. Highlight though was the wonderful rabbit ragu with home mad pasta... Gorgeous sauce, chunks of juicy rabbit and a perfect al dente bite... Bela Bella... Good value too

“A good find - but not great”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Belden Place is a quaint street filled with restaurants offering outdoor seating and our tour guide recommended we stroll through and pick a place for dinner. We chose Brindisi because they had pizza on the menu - and we were looking for a quick bite after a long day of sightseeing. We sat outside under the heat lamp and thought it was great - it was like dining in Europe! The pizza was good - not great - but overall we enjoyed ourselves.
