Ate here on a Thursday night. I believe happy hour for drinks and raw oysters runs 5-7pm Mon-Thurs. We had the clam chowder which has fresh clams in the shell within the broth and the oyster stew which was off the charts outstanding...rich, creamy, with a subtle spice along side fresh cooked oysters. Personally not a raw oyster fan but got 4 during the half price happy hour and they were incredible along with their perfectly made cocktail sauce (upon request). There was a bit of a wait on a the Thursday night and the line got longer the closer it got to the end of happy hour.

The restaurant is in the Ferry Bldg with views waterfont and of the Bay Bridge (not the Golden Gate Bridge). There is limit seating around the counter along with a few small tables...but additional seating is available outside which would be great during a nice evenng. Was a little windy and quite cool the evening we were there.

Would go back again and was disappointed because did not have the opportunity to return during the trip. Simply a great meal!

The oysters served at Hog Island are grown by Hog Island in Tamales Bay, just north of San Francisco. Several species are raised there in pristine conditions, and the result is perfectly evident in the quality and flavor of these marvelous oysters. Really pretty incomparable.

Nothing beats fresh shucked oysters and they had several kinds! Tried them all and was not disappointed with any. They had a cilantro, onion salsa to top them with, it was outstanding!

Perfect place for lunch (although a bit pricey but worth it). We had an order of raw oysters and a couple of the oyster stews which was all excellent!

this place can get SUPER crowded, but it's a fun crowd. If you're in the ferry building area, and like fresh oysters and a boisterous "oyster and beer" local and tourist group, this is a great place to check out.
