good food in this bistro in the hotel on the street side. enjoyed the noisy steakhouse like ambiance. good service friendly reception. good solid italian food at good prices. highly recommended if not expecting outstanding food or service but good solid experience with good service.

This is a very popular place, with tons of people and decibel level to match. However, the food is a revelation. The gnocchi was incredible--best I've had--and the sole was very good as well. The service was just bring 'em in, get their order, put it on the table, clear it out and deal with the next group--not a great feeling but this is a high turnover, volume business albeit with outstanding cooks. Don't go expecting to feel special or have a great conversation with your server, but do go if you want great food and don't need to be personally validated while consuming it.

Yes, I know that it's San Francisco, and prices are higher than other cities, but we found these prices excessive for the quality and quantity of food. I also found it to be a loud restaurant, which I typically would avoid. I like to be able to carry on a conversation without yelling.

Always great energy here and it starts with Natalie shes a ball of fire and will accommodate. This is a fine dine restaurant with a full bar. A very energized place located by Sir Francis Drake and across from Sears fine foods and the Chancellor hotel. All I can say is EXCELLENT!!

Every May for the past 20 years my group has always met for dinner here. The food is first class, though for me it's hard to resist the risotto which I usually choose. I love the modern/old world décor and service is professional. Only thing is I find the prices are getting steep ($29 for the risotto with no extras except bread - and I pay in Can $).
