On arriving at Tommy's we were quite taken aback at the decor and atmosphere. The place is charming in a strange kind of way but it is way too dim, too cold and the fittings are dated and a little tired looking. We arrived at 6pm as we were hungry from travelling all day. There were only 2 other people in the place which meant that the ample number of staff were hovering constantly and snatching away cutlery and crockery the moment you swallowed the last mouthful. Staff were pleasant, cheery and helpful. The food was tasty and represented good value for money but was not amazing or particularly memorable. We had the signature menu at $75 each. This included a whole lobster and peking duck as part of 6 courses. An interesting experience but would probably give this place a miss next time we're in SF.
