On arriving at Tommy's we were quite taken aback at the decor and atmosphere. The place is charming in a strange kind of way but it is way too dim, too cold and the fittings are dated and a little tired looking. We arrived at 6pm as we were hungry from travelling all day. There were only 2 other people in the place which meant that the ample number of staff were hovering constantly and snatching away cutlery and crockery the moment you swallowed the last mouthful. Staff were pleasant, cheery and helpful. The food was tasty and represented good value for money but was not amazing or particularly memorable. We had the signature menu at $75 each. This included a whole lobster and peking duck as part of 6 courses. An interesting experience but would probably give this place a miss next time we're in SF.

Had dinner last night, great location next to Pyramid in the financial district. Service was excellent, but food was mediocre.
Both entrees were bland, and the room is a little "worn" around the edges(chipped paint, and scrapes on the walls).

We always look forward to a visit to Tommy Toy's. This is a very elegant restaurant with great service providing truly excellent food. Our recent visit was for lunch, and if there is a better buy for lunch in San Fran, I don't know it. The Executive Lunch is a must have. It includes 2 of 3 appetizers, 4 entree samplers and dessert for $24. We enjoyed Minced Squab and Pot stickers for appetizers. The entrees were Chicken L'Orange, Filet of Flounder, Beef tips and Fried Rice.
The presentation is very nice and all of the dishes are perfectly prepared. This is our favorite restaurant in town and should be a must visit for visitors.

I had a wonderful lunch at Tommy Toy's this week and was not disappointed. I have been to this restaurant many times on special occasions and just decided to go with a co-worker for a "just because" lunch. We ordered the dine-around town lunch special. The food was delicious and the service is exceptional. It's nice to sit down away from the hustle and bustle of the Financial District. We could actually hear ourselves talk with soft music in the background. Good food, great atmosphere...it's a winner!

I took a few physicians out to dinner on 1/24/13 and found TT's to be nice, but not terrific. Service was quite poor and had to track down our waiter many times. He was delightful and nice, just absent. Food was good, but not great by any means. Seems that TT's might be living on tourist reputation and slipped a bit.
