From the minute we walked in, we loved it. Blake, the host was terrific. We had no res... So sat at the bar, which was perfect. Brad, the bartender was very attentive, funny and nice... We had a great vantage point for the wonderful music. We ordered the AMAZING lamb mini burgers twice... Asparagus soup, butter lettuce salad, potato pillows and great martinis. It was the perfect way to end our trip. We will certainly be back!!!!!

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal at Bix recently. We should have made a reservation earlier than we did for this popular restaurant on a Wednesday. We went early and were seated quickly. The wait staff seemed to be everywhere attending to all customers. Somehow we waited longer than usual to receive our main entree after receiving our appetizer quickly. That was surprising when we realized that our table was wanted before we were ready to leave. The food was great! The menu had good variety. Afterward a short walk to The Ferry Terminal gave us a fine view of the new lights on the Oakland Bridge.

This place is great. Greeted by very friendly hosts and waitstaff into a beautiful restaurant with a huge, open layout. The food is tremendous, and I was amazed with how knowledgeable our waitress was about every item on the menu, and a lot of questions about intricate bar drinks, an incredibly professional touch.

Dimly lit space that seemed like a nice throwback to the 1940's. Live piano was nice. You'll pay a premium dollar here, but very good for a business dinner and absolutely perfect for a special occasion with a significant other.

A friend had recommended this restaurant so I decided to give it a try. I was in the city for work so a business associate and I dined there this week. What a great experience. It is hidden on Gold street down a one way street. You have to valet your car and then you would think from the outside that it is a little place---what a surprise when you open the glass doors. The ceilings are at least 40 feet high all with beautiful moldings. The restaurant is named after the owner and it has been in business for over 25 years. A true gem within the city. We ordered the dungeness crab appetizers--so good and then we shared the lobster spaghettini with fresh tomatoes and basil. We also shared the truffle fries and the grilled brussel sprouts. The sorbets for dessert were full of flavor and the chocolate bread pudding just melted in your mouth. Everything including the service was top notch. This will be one of my go-to restaurant when I am in the city. It is a delightful dining experience. We both can't wait to go back!

We went to Bix 2 nights in a row because we enjoy the jazz, the bar vibe and the delicious small bites. Unfortunately both nights the hostesses were less than pleasant. A bit annoyed in their affect and snobby. Once past the front door however, our experiences with friendly bar tenders and wait staff was as it should be. Bix has a cool entrance down a brick alley and has consistently been a destination. Please give your hostesses some much needed coaching on how to be the first face....a happy helpful and welcoming face, for your customers.
