This old fish restaurant serves a wide variety of basic sea food with panache. The food is well prepared and the sea food is perfectly cooked (not over cooked and not rare). Service is attentive. During lunch and dining hours it is always packed and the huge bar overflows with patrons, many dining at the bar as there are not all that many tables is the dining area.
Two downsides are the very limited offerings of wines by the glass and the fact that they do not take reservations. Beer seems to be the beverage of choice. On our last visit on a Tuesday night we waited only about 15 or 20 minutes which wasn't too bad. There were numerous groups which the staff are quite adept at serving. The space is a bit noisy, but fun.
Best to come in for dinner either very early or after 8pm as many of the drinkers and diners seem to come in directly following work and the crowd seems greatest at around 6:30.
This is a step back in time experience which should be experienced.
