“Unexpected dinner experience”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

From the outside it looked like nothing special, but once we were seated everything from the cordial welcome, courteous service to the excellent and tasty meal was nothing short of exceptional. We really enjoyed the ambience, the friendliness of the staff and not least their delicious Italian food from the minestrone, via the pasta to the tiramisu. And for a change the cappucino was hot! The Machiavelli Chianti wine was tasty, but a little on the light side so if you prefer a more powerful wine try something else like the Amarone. All in all an absolutely fantastic experience and we will definitely come back next time we visit San Francisco. Price including tips: around $95 per person. Not cheap, but worth it.

“I felt like we were part of their family”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Great food, great service, and just downright friendly. We struggled to find a good place for dinner and trusted Tripadvisor to point us to the right place and it didn't disappoint. Not a very big place, and we lucked out with a table (it was pretty busy). Service was spectacular: there when you needed them, not there when you didn't. Food was above average, along with good coffee and dessert. Our kids loved it too, we still talk about it months later. A memorable moment: as we were leaving the owner came to say goodbye and introduced our daughters to his daughter...now when was the last time that happened to you ?

“Authentic Italian with San Francisco Charm”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

Six of us had dinner together at Pazzia on a Thursday evening. We had made a reservation for 7:00 and the restaurant was full. We could smell the food as we approached the restaurant from a half block away. The experience we had here was really great. The welcome was warm and enthusiastic. Our server was focused, knowledgeable, and got everything right. The food was really good. I had spaghetti carbonara which was off the menu and my friends had beef or scallops or grilled fish. The spaghetti sauce and ingredients took me back to Venice, St. Mark's Plaza, where I first had the dish. Pazzia's version was so similar in ingredients and taste as the one in Italy. The wine list is very extensive, and Italian. This is not a large restaurant so a reservation is advisable. Everyone in my group really liked Pazzia. I think you will too.

“Pazzia Restaurant & Pizzeria is cozy and friendly with terrific food”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

Julia and Jacopo, who are from Florence, Italy have recently joined the staff. Their warmth and skill enhances the atmosphere and upgrades the service. Our group of four enjoyed the beet salad, the mussels, risotto, pizza, pasta and the carmel creme dessert along with delicious beer. The service was excellent. All the food was delicious. It is small so we were near our neighbors which allowed us to visit with them if we chose to. We think it is a hidden treasure.

“Don't Miss It”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

We had just arrived in town on a Saturday late afternoon and didn't have a reservation but they fit us in and treated us like friends. The food was fantastic. Husband now has a new favorite lasagne. The service is fabulous and they make you feel very welcome. Highly recommended but do try to make reservations.
