“Easy transportation for SF”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013

Unlike the cable cars which can be a long wait, the F street car is easy to find and get on. Not as glamorous, but getting from Union Square to Fishermans Wharf is a snap.

“Fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

$2 for a short ride but it was nice to take all of our farmer's market buys back to our hotel on a historic street car

“Collection of streetcars from around the world in everyday use”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

The great thing about the F line is that old streetcars from around the world, including Italy, Mexico, Japan and Australia, are in continuous daily operation rather than sitting rotting in a museum. The F line runs down Market Street and the Embarcadero; the Bay waterfront. The passengers who use the F line are also an eclectic taste of San Francisco's citizens. We took a ride with a man who had a cockatoo on his shoulder!

“Rude driver”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

The trip was great but the announcements by the driver were unintelligible in most cases. Interesting route, however and the passengers were unique!

“Best way to get around San Francisco”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

The beautiful restored electric streetcars on the F-Line are the best way to get around much of the city. The electric streetcars are not cable cars, but are well worth a ride. The cars start near Fisherman's Wharf, pass near the Alcatraz Ferry Boat Pier and the Ferry Building, and then follows Market Street to the Castro District. The fare is only $2 per ride. I carry plenty of $1 coins on trips, but the fare box also accepts dollar bills. The fare box automatically counts each fare and sounds a beep when the correct amount is deposited. The operator gives each rider a paper transfer slip that you should keep until your trip is over.
