The neatloaf was great. all vegetarian ingredients with a perfect "barbecue" sauce on top. I really enjoyed the Vegan chocolate cake later that night at the hotel. Only open until 8PM. Check to see if you need a reservation. Closed on Sun., holidays, even President's Day.

Thank Pat H

I have been waiting to find such place in this country for long time. It is a true oasis of fine organic subtle food in the desert of deep-fried heavy unhealthy eateries in abundance represented in this particular district of San Francisco. First, style: there is excellent tasteful atmosphere, especially if you just did yoga and looking for calming harmonious but very bright positive environment (white and light blue colors mainly). Music is reminiscent of one you can hear on meditation class, with choir singing on very soft level. Second, food: salads are full of fresh vegetable flavor and smell like if were just prepared by your grandma in her garden. Smoothies are made with fresh berries and taste phenomenal. Food is also very reasonably priced. Third, I wish there were more restaurants like that in other cities of US and all over the world. Maybe they could make a chain, at least in sake of nation's health.

Enjoyed the food here. The place was quite busy as it was lunch hour on a work day. But service was fairly quick. The veggie burger was good. But the desert was heaven!!! Lemon cake gelato.

We finally had a chance to try this restaurant ranked #98 of 3,674 San Francisco Restaurants. The restaurant was a 20 minute walk southwest of Union Square. We arrived at lunch time .The restaurant has a positive and peaceful ambience - tall ceilings and walls decorated by some hand paintings and pictures of Sri Chinmoy who inspired the founders of this restaurant. We ordered Curry Dal Soup, Veggie Burger(see photo) fried potatoes and the Neatloaf(see photo). The food was served hot, freshly prepared and just scrumptious. These vegetarian entrees were just exquisitely prepared. The service was prompt, professional and pleasant. The price of the food was reasonably priced. Overall, we had an extraordinary dining experience of glorious vegetarian food !!!

We just happened upon Ananda Fuara on our way to see the Lion King. What a lucky find for us! The vegetarian, mostly vegan, menu was very creative, having a mix of Indian food as well as other standard vegetarian fare. It was really difficult to decide what to order because there were so many enticing things from which to choose.

I ordered a cup of chai, and it was some of the best chai I’ve had. I’m a bit of a chai snob, not wanting anything that comes out of a Tetra Pak or anything too sweet. The chai here is their Yogi tea with a black tea bag. It was the perfect temperature, and was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet.

I then had the mushroom curry over rice and dahl. Yum! It was delicious, perfectly spiced, and filling. My husband had the Neatloaf with BBQ sauce and a salad with Lemon Tahini dressing. It was really, really good. The Neatloaf was creative, flavorful, and had a great texture. The salad was fresh and crisp.

The service was friendly, professional, and attentive, despite being packed with customers. Our waitress was very helpful, and seemed very sweet.

I loved the robin’s egg blue walls, which were bright and uplifting, as well as the large waterfall feature.

I felt that the prices were really reasonable (inexpensive, actually), especially for the high quality of the food, and that it was really worth it.

Yeah, it has a spiritual vibe, but it was all good and certainly not off-putting in any way.

I would love to come back to Ananda Fuara to try more things, and I can certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants fresh, delicious, healthy, Indian, vegetarian food.
