“good enough, plus”

They purport to be louisiana creole, i think. At best, they sort of are. Aside from that, the decor is lovely. Get one of the high backed wooden booths if you can, for maximum ability to hear each other. The gumbo was an adaptation - don't go just for that. I'm from the deep south. Unless gumbo is like barbecue and varies from one county to another, the gumbo was a martha stewart home recipe for successful hostesses. The rest of the meal, not trying to be creole, was quite good. Service was good enough. There's a small public parking lot around the corner, but parking generally is difficult. Will i rush there again? No. Will i look forward to another invitation to dine there? Of course! (By the way, the best southern barbecue in the known universe is Bunyan's Barbecue in Florence, AL. Something like it is available, FEDEX, from Gridley's in Memphis, TN. Gridley's is a local place, with a second location out near the airport, and takes advantage of the fact that Memphis is the FEDEX hub. They'll send full feasts, or pounds, or just sauce. It ain't Bunyan's, but it's better than anything i've found elsewhere.)

“A really enjoyable experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Excellant food and service - so good that we immediately booked a return visit. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the Tagliatelle with Smoked Chicken while my wife had the Chicken breast with garlic mash. Both were delicious.

“A gem in Fillmore”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

This is in Fillimore at the top end. The area has quite a few restaurants but the Elite must be the best. I tried their gumbo - it was fabulous.

“Unsatisfying food and poor service”

The waiter took my order and I never saw him again. Runners brought out the food and he never stopped by to ask how the food was.

“Where the Elite meet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

Consistently, one of San Francisco's finest restaurants.
We were there when the Elite opened - it was such a novelty and now a gold standard.
Service - impeccable
Menu - never disappoints - highest quality...Meeting house biscuits are like mana from heaven~
The Elite is a great place for a very special event - or to sit at the bar have indulge in oysters and a glass of bubbly. We love sitting the booths.
Tip..be sure to have reservations.
