“Great location Good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

I walked pass this restaurant many times. Never until last week we sat down for lunch.

My friend recommend the must-try which was the perfectly done chick breast platter. It was great and speechless. I love how there are so much to experience in SF. I am sure this place is alive all day. The meat ball starter was good too.

The service was good and professional. However I wish the manager would have smiled a little more.

Absinthe is absolutely perfect for all day visiting. Dont OD, though! ;)

“Solid food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 19, 2013

Went for brunch. Located in Hayes valley, nice colors inside. Egg dishes were flavorful and cooked well! Hardy and nice portion! Grilled cheese was just ok. Too much bread, boarding on burnt, and not enough cheese. Fries were not as good as a French restaurant should make! Drinks were YUM! Nice creativity, dessert was unconventional which we like! Salad was good! Simple and not overdressed! Would go back to try dinner.

“Great food and atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

We had eaten here almost ten years ago and came back with good memories...and acquired more!

The food is just the right amount of sophisticated...surprising twists and homely tastes combined. The restaurant also catered well for my special dietary needs (gluten free). Waiters were very friendly, also with our 2-year old daughter.

We love this place and will be back....hopefully without another ten years' wait.

Oh, and don't forget to have a drink or two while waiting for your table...the cocktails are fabulous!

“Go for the food, avoid the Bellini”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

Been there several times, food is always wonderful. Decided to have a Bellini after having several in Venice last year. It's hard to describe how awful they were. A true Bellini is made with Prosecco and white peach puree. It is completely opaque and appears to just be the peaches until you have a taste. Ours were made with some Spanish sparkling wine and rather than the 1 part peach puree to 3 parts of Prosecco, our "Bellini" was 1 DROP of peach something and the remainder sparkling wine. Pretty much worthless. The Death in the Afternoon cocktail was a lot better and for some reason is a really hard thing to find.

“mixed blessing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Still fairly good food though the menu is somewhat limited. Always very good service. Caesar Salad a good choice.....main courses weren't so very interesting last week so I had their Hamburger: exellent and great Fries (and reasonably priced). Chocolate Pot-de-Creme a classic. DOWNSIDE: they have eliminated tablecloths thereby increasing the noise level and decreasing the style of the restaurant.....the extortionate 4% Health Tax is a rip-off and not justified
