we had terrific service and felt the portions were perfect for lunch. the area is great to walk around after a good brunch and browse at the lovely shops--a lovely Saturday or Sunday brunch to linger over.

I have no complaints about Absinthe but it didn't blow me away. The wine was good, the meal was very tasty and I liked the atmosphere. Service was good and it wasn't too over priced, but just didn't stick out too much for me for whatever reason. Would definitely recommend it for a nice dinner though!

Absinthe is a pleasant place for brunch or dinner, just a couple of blocks West of the Civic Center in Hayes Valley. The food and service is good and the atmosphere is conducive to quiet conversations.

I had the burger and it was great. But please avoid the strawberry tarragon pavlova. It should be called the tarragon pavlova with strawberry garnish. It was absolutely disgusting!!!

There isn't a big selection of food items that appeal to me. at Absinthe. I recently ate lunch there with my wife and friend. I had the grilled cheese sandwich--which was not the usual mundane sandwich--and it was very gourmet and tasty. BUT,...there are just so many restaurants in San Francisco that have a large number of food choices that appeal to me, that I have no desire to return. Also, it is a very pricey lunch for what you get!
