We stumbled across Bask while wandering around the area looking for dinner inspiration by our hotel - and what a find it turned out to be. We walked up on a Friday night and although they were busy the hostess worked wonders and politely re-organized patrons at the bar to squeeze us in after a few minutes. Some restaurant hosts seem to discard you when you try and get in to a full restaurant - here she kept checking on us in a super friendly and helpful manner. We ordered a selection of tapas including the Euskal Salad (very flavorful), the Sautee Salmon Skewers, the Spanish Tortilla Omelette with Chorizo, and the Lamb Meatballs along with some Spanish beer along with some nice wine from a very interesting by the glass selection. To cap things we ended with a very nice Manchego Cheese Plate. My daughter was very taken with the chipotle based sauce that came with the Tortilla plate and one of the principals even gave her a small to go serving to take home with us - that as a super nice touch. The owner, I believe, from Toulouse, was working the bar - as well as the restaurant and was always engaging and smiling. There was also some excellent live music with some eclectic modern jazz with a chanteuse singer. All added to a simply great evening to cap a wonderful vacation. We can't wait to get back to SanFran to visit our new favorite!!

Place is cozy and noisy , manager is friendly and extremely helpful, all the tapas are top notched that we ordered so many that we lost count!

The one with squid and its ink is a must try, the Spanish omellette is fried the right way as I had tasted in Spain.

Grilled Tiger prawns are tasty, crab croquette is best I had so far! Fried camembert cheese with honey is cheese-lover's heaven plus the cold cuts and cheese platter which the aged Manchego is heavenly!

Aged Bellota Iberico ham is a must try for ham lovers, with oily and nutty flavours linger on and on in the mouth! Must try, even it's not cheap!

Mussels are great but a bit too creamy for the sauce. Paella Royale is wonderfully prepared and authentic. Steak is grilled to perefectlon the meat is so flavourful!

Wine by the glass recommended is very fruity with good body!

BAsk cake is yet another delight with lots of almond flavour in it!

We had such a satisfying meal with a whole palate of different colours displayed by different dishes! And it's definitely not breaking your wallet!

Wholehearted recommendation!

Very tasty tapas.
Was not here for dinner but for a flamenco show. After the show I ordered a couple of Tapas at the bar which were extremely tasty.
I would highly recommend this place for the food and the cosiness of the restaurant.

After a chilly day at the North Beach Fair in San Francisco we happened upon a delightful
tapas bar that was a perfect respite from the crowds and elements. The service was excellent
And the selection of wines and tapas filled the bill.
