At first glance the location of this hotel looks to be a bit out of the way but the transport links are so good that it doesn't matter at all. In fact, it was nice not to be staying in the busiest parts of town and made us more inclined to explore.
We had an en-suite room with a queen bed and it was a good size for the 2 of us to move about, store suitcases etc.
The rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily and the staff are very helpful and keen to recommend places to eat/drink. There are actually a lot of nice restaurants in the area immediately around the hotel and I would recommend trying a few of them out. Golden Gate Park and Castro are reasonably short walks and there are several bus routes operating in the close vicinity (6/71 down Haight run into downtown, 24 runs along Divisadero towards Castro and beyond).
