The hotel is near Union Square and convenient to bus & Cable Car lines, which makes it easy to get around the city. Wanting to spend our money on sightseeing rather than accommodations, we chose the Taylor Hotel at $50/night. The street it's on is a bit creepy, but together (2 women) we felt pretty safe. Whatever you do DON'T get a room on the street. It's VERY noisy. I live in the city and thought it wouldn't be so bad...IT WAS! Couldn't sleep the entire first night...Yikes! The room was clean but very old. The bathroom door didn't close all the way, the t.v. didn't work very well, no phone in room...stuff like that. Overall it was clean and comfortable if you don't plan to spend a lot of time there.
