Just returned from a week in SF, my second stay at the Argonaut Hotel. This time brought my wife and daughter, and stayed in a one bedroom with two queen beds. Very clean and everything well maintained, to include plenty of hot water. Evening wine socials were nice, and the hotel is on the end of fisherman's wharf across the street from the cable car down Hyde, as well as Ghiardelli Square. Plenty of great restaurants down Columbus Ave (North Beach). Restaurant at the hotel (mermaid) and the local bar (jack's) were pretty lousy. But plenty of options just a short stroll away. There's a Trader Joes just 4 blocks from the hotel if you want to stock the fridge, and they have a great affordable wine selection. The hotel also has free wireless/wired internet in each room (just have to join intouch - free).
Overall, great affordable hotel, great location, and I would return to this hotel on future visits to SF.More
