Easy walk to hotel from BART embarcadaro station if arriving via SFO. Hotel is two long blocks to Pier 1 ( ferry terminal) .Almost at the base of the Transamerica building. Rooms are
small but have everything you require. Rooms have free wifi and lobby has computers with free internet and printing. Coffee available in lobby 24/7 . Irish pub , Elephant and Castle located in building and offers typical pub grug and beer. Good after a long day of touring around. This is a good value for your money in a city that has expensive hotels. I would return without hesitation. Hotel does not offer parking.

My husband and I stayed here on the last 2 nights of our honeymoon. My friend who lives in San Fran said the location would be good for us. This hotel is set in the heart of the financial district, but is an easy walk to the piers (the road we are on took us to Pier 3) and it is only a few blocks to catch the cable cars which can take you just about anywhere you need to be. China Town is also 6-7 blocks away and an easy walk.
We weren't looking for anything fancy as we wanted a good location and to keep within a budget. That was met. Our room was standard, with an average size bathroom. It had what we needed for our trip, but if we had wanted a roomy room that would not have been it.

Hotel staff was friendly and had very easy and fast check-in and check-out service. Upon arrival we had a staff member help us get our luggage up to our room, and he refused the tip which I thought was interesting.

There is no parking with this hotel, so if yo have a car plan on that being an extra expenditure. You can pull-up and check-in/unload at the hotel, but the nearest parking is a couple of blocks away in a perfectly fine/secure parking garage. It was $32/day when we parked. If you need your car a lot over the course of a couple of days, this would be annoying but if you are OK with teh cost and plan to just leave it there you will be fine.

There is no complimentary breakfast, but the hotel is attached to a restaurant with a full breakfast menu. Show your room key and get 10% off your bill.

Pros: location, price, average room, service
Cons: off-site parking, no breakfast, standard rooms are small

Room Tip: Rooms facing Clay Street or Battery Ave will have more street noise

Very helpful staff, went out of their way to provide information and service. Small problem with plumbing was dealt with quickly and effectively. Rooms were clean, furnishings were new and upscale. Only difficulty was tight space but, really, we weren't there to hang out in the room! Good location, convenient, happy with choice.

Room Tip: Request room on higher floor so as to alleviate any potential noise. If parking overnight, car park...

This is a very adequate hotel in a decent location near Embarcadero. This hotel is fine but, I don't believe it should be rated three and a half stars, which Priceline does. I give it three only because of the amenities.

Very small room, but everything we needed in it. Ours had a queen bed, desk, microwave, refrigerator. The bathroom is small with a shower but, no tub.

My complaints: the toilet kept running after flushed, a light bulb was burned out, and the grout in the shower floor seemed dirty.
Regarding the service, they were friendly but gave us bad information a couple of times.
The upside: free water on each floor, secure floors, a bar/restaurant next door which is accessible through the hotel, and access to free internet and printer.

I've stayed at the Club Quarters in San Francisco about 7 times now over the past 5 years. The hotel caters to mostly business travelers but if you're a family seeing the sites of San Francisco you'll love it to.

I've found that the earlier you can reserve a room the better because conferences in the city can quickly use up all the rooms around the area and the CQ is no different.

The standard rooms are smaller than most are accustom to, however there are upgrades which can provide much more room. Always clean, always quiet, always a good value. Be sure to check out the closet near the elevators. Here you can find extra pillows, a filtered water dispenser (AWESOME!!!) and other things you'll need while staying at the CQ. The hotel staff have always been of the highest caliber.

You couldn't really ask for a better location in the city. It's close to many of the sites of the city and in the heart of the Financial District. There's a Starbucks next door. The Trans-America building is two blocks down. China town is up the street (don't miss it!). It's within walking distance of the BART Embarcadero station, about 10 minutes.

The hotel is secure in that you can not access the floors with rooms unless you have a key card. I've had several female colleagues comment that they find this reassuring when staying at this hotel.

Next door is the Elephant and Castle pub. Standard pub grub plus they do a good breakfast. Usually a good crowd after 5 trying to relieve some of the daily stress. Sometimes the wait time in the mornings for breakfast can be a bit long so don't expect to rush in and rush out. For that there are other breakfast venues nearby, just check with the front desk. Room service is available from several local restaurants. They deliver it to the hotel and hotel staff brings it to your room. You're within walking distance of MANY great and unique restaurants so be sure to check with the front desk for their recommendations.

They do have a fitness room downstairs, a little sparse on equipment.

Standard rooms don't have a kitchenette, however for a few more dollars you can upgrade to a room that has one. Well worth it if you're trying to save a few dollars by not eating out or trying to not gain 5 pounds on a business trip.

I'll return the SanFran CQ time and time again.

Room Tip: Book early! Check with front desk about cheap upgrades when you check in.

It's clearly a business hotel and we were traveling as a family, but they couldn't have been more accommodating. Priceline booked us a small room, but for a reasonable rate they upgraded us to a nice junior suite with great layout, balcony, decent bed. Good location near the Embarcadero means you're within walking distance of much that SF has to offer. Very nice and helpful staff. Only minor negative was the small lobby and narrow, twisty hallways. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Opt for the junior balcony suite. Most spacious part of your stay.
