It's clearly a business hotel and we were traveling as a family, but they couldn't have been more accommodating. Priceline booked us a small room, but for a reasonable rate they upgraded us to a nice junior suite with great layout, balcony, decent bed. Good location near the Embarcadero means you're within walking distance of much that SF has to offer. Very nice and helpful staff. Only minor negative was the small lobby and narrow, twisty hallways. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Opt for the junior balcony suite. Most spacious part of your stay.

We are using this hotel for the second time and always take the suite with kitchnette which are big and very nicely equipped - staff is very profesional and helpful with all requests - very clean rooms - you will have access to a lounge downstairs with free coffee and wifi is free also in the rooms - central access to trams, metros, embarcadero and nice restaurants close to chinatown - we stronly recommend it !

I stayed for one night in the smallest room in the house, with a queen bed. It was perfect for business, great location, easy check in, clean, and very comfortable. Everything you need is in there with plenty of outlets, etc. Free Wi-Fi and computers to print your boarding pass. I will stay there again. Perfectly fine for one person, with two you might want a bigger room if you stay longer.

The only con is the pending charge on my credit card left for incidentals. I am looking into it, as I sure didn't buy anything. Odd amount for a hold.

For the previous reviewer who commented on the lack of taxis or someone to flag one down, try the "Taxi Magic" App. My colleague used it in San Fran and they were very fast to come pick him up.

not much bad really, and some good.

the bad...
-not sure what you have to do to get maid service. only came to my room once in a week, and that was after calling them.
-my bed was 2 singles pushed together, which i noticed when i sat down to tie my shoes and almost broke my tailbone. so basically, i had a single bed.
-not sure what the views are like in most rooms, but my 2nd floor room was of a HVAC unit covered in vines and the inside of the person's room across from me. looks like they had a fridge and microwave, sounds nice. my room didn't so maybe request that if you need it.
--this is more a SF bad than a hotel bad, but good luck getting a cab anywhere. they are scarce in the city which tourists visit more than any other in the country. makes no sense.

the good...
-location is great if you are staying in the Financial District. close to the Embarcadero Center, some good bars, any financial office you need to walk to and AT&T park isn't too far away. (this hotel is right across from Le Meridian which we heard was great. if prices are similar consider there.)
-complimentary, unlimited bottled water by the elevators on each floor. with all the walking you'll do around town this is a great amenity. liked it.
-the rooms are small but actually a decent size for the location and within a city where space is limited. i was here for a week and never felt cramped.
-there is a great bar attached to the hotel, forgetting the name right now. they do trivia night on thursday and get a good crowd.
-they have a washer/dryer on site, and a vending machine that has detergent. i actually would have not packed as much and utilized this if i was aware of it.

that's all i can think of. hope it helps!

Room Tip: ask for a room above the 2nd floor, make sure your bed is a Queen and not 2 singles pushed together!

I have stayed here numerous times and have always been very satisfied. While the rooms are small, all os them are wellappointed with everything you would need including frefrigerators and microwaves in some. There is a very attractive common lounge area on the first floor and the Elephant Castle British-type pub is attached with a walk-through from the basement. If you are looking for pampering, it's not the place. The desk staff is on;y there for assistance as needed as they have a very efficient self-checkin and self-checkout system. A nice touch is the water systems on each floor near the elevator where you can self-bottle an unlimited amount of cold, purified water.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a refrigerator, I don't think this increases the rate.

This hotel was fine.....I payed $100/night in San Francisco. The front desk staff was awesome, it was clean, the rooms were small. I was in SF for a conference, I spent no time in the room. Ok for business, not for a romantic getaway.

We were searching for an affordable yet not scary hotel in San Fran, where we could walk or catch a trolley to the major destinations. We booked Club Quarters after looking at countless hotels' reviews on different sites, and were tickled with the hotel!

There's automated check-in kiosks if you don't want to wait for a live customer service agent - YES.

FREE bottled water on floors 2 and 9 - YES!!

We could walk to the Piers, trolley stops, or BART stations easily, which was awesome. We walked to a Giants game, too!

The room was small, but we weren't living there for a year - it was fine. We had the basic queen room. Free internet, clean/updated bedding/linens, nice toiletries.

There's a roof-top terrace on floor 10 (I think) that gives you great views! Check it out!

The pub next door had great Happy Hour specials and really good food; we ate there a few times since it was so easy.

The front desk set up airport transportation for us, as we were a party of 5 and could not fit in 1 standard cab. Very helpful.

If we return to SF, we would not hesitate to stay @ CQ again!
