Me and my boyfriend stayed in a double room and were really pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the room. We don't usually stay in hostels on holiday but San Francisco accommodation seemed very expensive, so this was a more sensible option, and we were pleased we decided to stay here.
The location is great, 2 minutes from Union Square - although this does mean it's very noisy, as expected in a city (and they do provide earplugs.) Plenty of bagels for breakfast, and usually some fruit too. We cooked in the kitchen one evening, which was good.
We accidentally walked into the Tenderloin area on our first day, which was a big mistake. But we didn't have any problems otherwise. In the daytimes we went to Alcatraz (you need to pre-book before you go), Fisherman's Wharf (really nice and very touristy) and we biked over to the Golden Gate Bridge, which was great - my favourite day in San Francisco.
I would recommend staying here. (We did a road trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas, so if you're doing the same see my other reviews!)More
