Let me say that our tour guide was a nice person, but the tour was not worth the money. You would do better to get a pass for the Hop On/Off tour.
Our tour was oversold, and after picking us all up we had to get off the bus for a 'pass' and back in line to get on the bus again. Despite being told we couldn't save our seats, several people left personal items on the best seats and the guide allowed them to take their seats back. Because he was so nice, he allowed these people to turn the trip into their own personal tour.

Overall, I was disappointed and don't feel the tour was worth the money.

“Be careful when buying the tour tickets via the Internet”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

We bought a day tour for San Francisco City Tour (A blue bus tour) and Alcatraz tour via the Internet and realized that the time reserved for the two places was not reasonable. In fact, the city tour and the alcatraz themselves are great but the time set by the company responsible for this tour was the problem. According to the schedule in the vouchers, the picked up time for the city tour from Fisherman's wharf was 9:30 a.m and the boarding time for the Alcatraz is 10:30 a,m. This was the problem. The city tour takes about 2 hours. That means if we had taken the bus,we would have had to spend at least one and a half hour on the bus before reaching the Alcatraz landing since the time for boarding to the Alcatraz assigned in the voucher was 10:30 and it is said that we had to show up 10 minutes before the gate closed otherwise we would not be eligible to board. We came to the ticket office and asked the staff about the time set in the two trips and we were advised to take a walk to the Alcatraz landing which is about 10 minutes walk in order to be able to board on time and come back to have a city tour later. So we had to walk (in the rain) to the landing point instead of taking the bus. If the companyy had set reasonble time for the two trips, we would not have walked in the rain. When we came back from the Alcatraz, we saw many red city tour buses but not the blue ones. So we had to walk back to the ticket office (in the rain again) to start the city tour from the starting point. We therefore would like to warn anyone who will visit San Francisco for the first time to be careful when buying tickets via the Internet especially when one has to take two trips on the same date. Look carefully at the times set in the two trips and see whether they are reasonable or not.

“San Francisco Co Comprehensive Shuttle Tours - City Tour”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

My husband and I booked and paid for this tour before we left home in England. We met the young lady who organises the trip and went across to Sausalito on the ferry boat to meet the coach which would bring us back across the Golden Gate Bridge. We all boarded the coach which was to be driven by a very young lady who was new to the job. As we took off she hit another coach and took part of the back off our coach. It took an hour to sort out all the exchange of details etc which seemed to be an excessive time. She actually brought the broken part of the rear of the bus inside and sat it up against the front windscreen so as we were sitting at the front we looked at the back of our bus the whole day. We eventually started off and it was clear from the outset that the driver had no idea of where she was to drive to next. She was continually looking at a hand held sat.nav. and receiving instructions from the guide.
We eventually arrived at the viewing point for the best photo of the bridge, took our photos and left. The driver did not know to turn right or left, the guide told her to turn right and she soon realised she was travelling in the wrong direction. It took quite some time to get to a place where she could get into the opposite lane and turn back and guess what - we arrived back where we had started after sitting for a considerable time in traffic. As the day wore on we were getting more and more behind in time. At one point the guide told a lady to get off the bus because her husband had gone to the toilet and she could not wait for him because we were so late. Some of the attractions were cut out altogether. The guiide then directed the driver to drive up one of the very steep hills that had a sign at the bottom NO TOUR BUSES. As we went up the hill the bus 'bottomed' on the ground and half of the passengers shouted to let them off the bus. They got off the bus and we started up the hill again and it 'bottomed' on the crest of the hill and we could smell oil. The driver then could not get it into gear and it had to be forced in. The passengers who got off would not get back on again and made their own way back. Of the passengers who were left, one of them was a lorry driver and she said that the bus should be towed back to the garage and we should not be on it. We were promised a tour of China Town but were so late that we were taken to China ~Town for about 5 minutes and away again. Even when we got back more than one and a half hours late, the driver hit the kerb and damaged the wheels. It was an absolute disaster. On Tuesday when we turned up for the next trip we had paid for we were told that she had been sacked. However we are still awaiting a reply to our e-mails asking for a refund. DONT USE THIS COMPANY there is no need. There are a lot of companies on every corner who have an office. This is purely an online company and there is no correspondence if they wish not to reply. There is also a lovely open top bus doing city tours and it costs half the price and you can hop on and off and spend as much time as you like seeing the wonderful city. I cannot impress too much not to use this company. My last e-mail to them was when we returned to England and I asked for a reply within 72 hours which is the time span they use for everything and I said I would post this review - still no reply. I also have photos (of the back of the bus which was brought inside and propped against the windscreen which blocked everyones view)
