It is big with a vast selection of music but not as cheap as other places closer to union square. Parking is ok a few streets away, just limited to 2 hours. Has all genres set out fairly well. Good place to spend a couple of hours.

Such a great throw back place. Its huge! We stayed in here for an hour or more! Our teenagers liked it too! Not sure they had ever seen a turntable and records before! It was a blast looking up all the old albums i had growing up....it was very organized and they even had soundtrack albums from old movies! I also enjoyed looking at old concert posters for sale! Pretty cool! Go if you are into music....plan to stay a while. Prices were fair too!

My husband and daughter actually visited Amoeba Music - since parking in the area was such a nightmare I opted to do our grocery shopping at Whole Foods since it's right across the street and we were allowed to park there for one hour. From what I hear it's a very cool music store with plenty of vintage vinyl to choose from.

Huge selection of vinyl and CDs, wide variety of styles. Don't forget the discount CD bins in back and vinyl below the shelves. Be prepared to leave any bags/purses at the door, and visit a bathroom before you go . . . None at the store.

Amoeba Music in California is a must see for music lovers! The amount of recordings under one roof is amazing as well as all the other music related items for sale. We visited this location as well as the location in Los Angeles and could have spent hours just looking at all the selections.
