“Intimate spot - great food”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

Tiny restaurant. Dining solo, I sat at the counter downstairs facing a mirrored wall - not ideal. Food was great. Wait staff very cool. Recommended.

SF has really great food but this place is the best imo. We popped in here on our last night in SF. We had cheese and wine to start, then the pork belly for mains all paired with wines that were recommended by staff.
The food is delicious, the wine great, the staff friendly, informative and knowledgeable. It was our best meal in the city.
Highly recommend!

“Best food in SF”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 via mobile

I've spent a week in SF on business and have had some good food over the past few days.
However, tonight's meal at Bouche was the best I've had. The food was sublime, the wine superb, the staff just how I like them - passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Shame I live 5,500 miles away!

“Great food and the best meal I've ever had sitting at a counter”
Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

We wandered into Bouche after a wonderful set at Rrazz and had a great second show at Bouche. Since getting a table at 10 on Sat nite was impossible without a reservation, we sat at the counter. Watching the 3 hardworking chefs put together everyones dishes was a wonderful second act that made you appreciate the balletic efforts involved in a busy kitchen. Great wine list and a lamb shank to die for. Monkfish in a veal reduction also worth a nod. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality and was only sorry I couldn't go back to have another dinner and try the extensive list of first courses. Service was very efficient and nice-- coffee a bit weak, but nothing is perfect, right?

“Local & genuine cuisine francaise”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

This tiny but central resto (just off Union Square) is delightful. A small menu of fresh and very imaginative modern French dishes, with a great selection of wines. The service was laid back but extremely knowledgeable, the atmosphere sort of funky urban French attic (pretty noisy, but a nice cosy feeling of being under the Paris eaves).

There were two of us and for less than $100 bucks we had two starters, two mains, one dessert and a bottle of wine, all of them delicious. We will definitely return, sans doute!
