Enjoyed our lunch here - the chili was very good, the tomato soup - don't bother. Had turkey and ham sandwiches - both were good. Nice atmosphere and pleasant aroma! Very bready sourdough bread - as is normal - almost too much for my taste but interesting place to visit and you should try it - w/out the tomato soup.

If you are ending a day in San Francisco and want to eat something but not up one of the good restaurants of Fisherman's Wharf, try a bread bowl at Boudin, either New England Clam Chowder, tomato soup or beef chili beans, washed down with a typical SF ale.

It was a nice little place for lunch. We got the clam chowder soup and tomato bisque soup in the sourdough bread bowls. They were quite delicious. The only thing is that for restrooms you have to walk out the building to the back where there are public restrooms for the area.

On Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, I found this to be a great place for a quick bite after our bay cruise. Right next to the parking lot, you get an hour's parking free on validation by Boudin's!
There was a long line to order, and a brief wait for the service. Finding a table was difficult.
We enjoyed our Clam Chowder & Beef Chili in sourdough bowls; The Shrimp Salad sandwich was good and the Turkey Breast Sandwich went down even better. The baskets of sourdough bread swinging overhead on their way from the bakery to the counters were an interesting sight .
Cost was reasonable, and we enjoyed our visit. Would certainly go back in due course.
