“Awesome place to eat”

Everything is fresh and great. Get the Baja/Garlic fries. Worth every bite. Short walk from the hotel, and you might even miss it if you were not looking for it directly.

“Decent fish and chips.”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

The owner is very friendly. The location is nice. I got the fish and chips and it was average. I found it odd that they didn't have any plastic knives (she said for the last 3 days), even though there is a Walgreens across the street where they could probably buy some.

“Excellent fish and lovely owner!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

Saw the tripadvisor reviews and thought it must be overrating this modest little place. It isn't. At the time I'm writing this, Codmother is rated 62 out of 2441 restaurants in SF. How can that be? Well, the fish is excellent, and the coating doesn't bury the mild favor of the fish. The value is really there (which is key in the ranking), particularly in this touristy area of the city. The owner is also one of the nicest, hardest workers around, and is a real success story in her own right for an immigrant to the US. She earned this place on tripadvisor on her own... Very inspiring.

“Ambience, flavor and "In Cod We Trust"”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

My brother and I stopped in New Year's Eve 2012. This is a charming spot to enjoy expertly prepared fish and chips. Executive Chef and owner Suzanne and her "sous chef" created the
meaty cod fillets (evenly breaded and not greasy) and tasty pommes frites (flavorful) for us
without delay. No pastry chef required here, we enjoyed the Deep Fried Oreos (Twinkies are available, too) Next time, yes, next time the Twinkies, in honor of my Grandfather who worked for
Continental Baking Company, in Detroit in the 1930's. So, if you're feeling a bit "chipper" head directly to The Codmother for a pleasant surprise. p.s. I'm looking for Guy and Lori Fieri to give
it a taste and a feature on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." Bon Appetit!
