Thank you to the best adventure guides I could have asked for on the Olema-Pt. Reyes bike/camping trip. From the ride to the food to the immense support and guidance led by Damon, Pete, Matt, Lauren, Diana, and Theo, the trip was, for lack of a better word—flawless. If you’re an outdoor junkie or a tourist visiting from out of town, Sports Basement Outdoors is the total package. They think of everything, down to the needs of the last gluten-free vegan. These are no drop rides with sag wagons in tow, whose guides make sure that all of your needs are met from dawn to dusk. Incredibly professional staff who clearly have a passion for what they do.

A special shout-out to the chefs, Pete and Damon, who cooked up a spread worthy of kings! From Pete’s lip-smacking BBQ to Damon’s vegan chilli, there was never a lack of yummy things to eat! I was blown away at every mealtime with the delicious and healthy food.

If you are an advanced rider or very active, this trip gives you more challenging ride options as well. West Marin has great climbs and the guides are accomplished athletes with excellent credentials. In other words, you can personalize your trip to meet your activity goals!

Great 2-day ride and camping adventure with very hospitable Sports Basement staff and easy going and fun participants. Two route options each day (short and long). Ride from SF Presidio to Olema Campsite in Point Reyes (loop back on second day). Excellent food and support. Worth the $$$.

I did a beginner mountain biking workshop last weekend and absolutely loved it. Sports Basement provided a high quality full-suspension mountain bike rental, and Darren, the instructor, was awesome. We learned a lot of great techniques, practiced in a workshop style, and completed a full loop ride around China Camp in Marin County. I felt totally safe and loved the adventure.

I couldn't have had a better weekend with Anthony, Pete, Mike, Matt, Casey, Theo and Sandy from Sports Basement!

This was my first ever overnight camping bike ride and the SB team could not have done a better job – including Lane, our own personal chef. Between the long and shorter ride options, we had a minimum of 3-5 people in constant radio support with each other (including motorcycle and car support), tasty lunches, snacks and water and Mother Nature cooperated with beautiful weather.

Once we go to the campground in Olema, the staff went to work putting camp together, pitching our tents and providing racks for our bikes. I even got some recommendations on camping gear (tents, air mattresses etc) that the staff had which was very helpful.

Lane created an amazing meals for the group accommodating food restrictions including chicken and vegetables with a Mediterranean spin and a tasty breakfast that helped fuel the ride back to San Francisco. In addition to making our meals, he was great showing off his knife skills and walked those interested in some how-to tips and tricks.

Kudos to everyone from SB for putting on a top shelf event for their first time ever to Point Reyes – would highly recommend anyone interested and can’t wait for my next trip!
