After my first great experience with this company in 2012, this time I was part of a group tour including myself, my wife, and several old friends. Our driver this time was Amber, and throughout the day she shared lively and interesting background about the history of the city of San Francisco, the two wine growing areas we visited, and California in general. I generally favor white wines, and she set up the spots we visited around my taste, directing us to wineries that served delicious pinot grigios and viogniers, and a few tasty red wines as well. Amber also included in our tour lunch at a charming Italian trattoria. She never rushed us, and even made sure we drank enough water! All in all, an enjoyable and educational day in California wine country.

Our trip started with a 9:15 pick up from our b&b which was very convenient. My wife and I happened to be the only ones on the tour that day so it was tailored to our preferences in terms of sight seeing and wine selection. The first 1-1.5hr was driving around San Fran on our way out of town towards Napa valley. We got to see excellent views of the city from the top of the twin peaks, one of the best views of the city, then drive through the various Rizy neighborhoods, and stop to see the a great overlook of the golden gate bridge. I got the impression we could have gone to anywhere we wanted since we were the only people in the tour that day. If you happen to have a full car of 8 people you might need to be a little more willing to compromise with the others in the group. Still plenty of sightseeing along the way to the golden gate bridge and into Sonoma and Napa.
The vehicle we had was a very nice Mercedes suv with lots of sparkling wine, beer, and water available.
As far as the wine tour, we went to 6 wineries which we were told was a record. The entire day was at our own pace and we relaied on the driver to recommend wineries which specialized in types we liked. Again, if you have a full tour of 8 people, you'll probably need to compromise a little. Still the driver was very knowledgeable and we were very happy with every winery we stopped at. I'm sure there are lots of options for wine tours, but this one will not dissapoint

Alloys provided us with an exceptional wine tour of Sonoma and a tour of the main attractions in San Francisco. His knowledge of wines and his history lesson of the area were very educational. We visited a mix of big and small wineries as well as a champagne production. What a great host and an amazing day! The bottle of champagne was a treat and a very classy touch to get our tour started!

After lots of research for our wine tasting day we finally chose Greenhills as we couldn't find one bad review! We were picked up promptly and joined another couple in a nice vehicle, starting they day as we had read with a few stops in the city, a bottle of Chandon opened at Golden Gate Bridge then off to our first stop Jacuzzi. loved the scenery here and the fact you could walk into the vineyards. second stop was the wine cave at Deerfields which was my least favourite. After lunch we went to Mumm which was my request- loved the 3 glasses of champagne here! Last stop was Peju where Alan entertained us with his raps and knowledge of the wines. Nice Sauvignon blanc here of which we bought 2 bottles hence waving our tasting fee. Aloys the. Opened a second bottle of champagne for our return trip - he is the perfect host and would highly recommend choosing him for you wine tour!

Aloys picked us up at our hotel in San Francisco. Before heading to wine country, he drove us through China Town, down Lombard Street, to the Palace of Fine Arts before stopping at the base of the Golden Gate bridge across the bay. From there, he popped the cork of a bottle of sparkling wine as we ventured first into Napa. We stopped at Jacuzzi first - a highlight! I definitely recommend sampling their dessert wine - yummy! Next we headed to lunch in Sonoma square at a cute little Italian Trattoria. Aloys surprised us by paying for some incredible appetizers to enjoy. The afternoon was spent at Stags' Leap and Peju. Although the wine at Stags' Leap was out of our price range, we finished up at the very memorable Peju winery with Alan as our sommelier! As if we hadn't had enough to sip on throughout the day, Aloys offered to stop at the store for some local beers to enjoy on our way back into the city. All in all, a very fun and memorable day! We made some great friends on the tour too! Highly recommend! :)
