Nice and clean place to stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the 'Ballet' rooms, they were very small, but that was all that was available for that weekend. Small, quaint hotel. It's an old building but has been updated, except the small elevator. Great location in the city. Overall we had a great experience. I would stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay in the "In at the Opera".
This is a really nice boutique hotel with flair.
Not that lifeless interior that you can expect at the large hotel chains.

The location is great to explore the city even by walking around.
The breakfast was a typically one with a large variety of muffins and bagels.
The rooms are not that large, but you will find everything you need.
The service is excellent!
Value for money is great.

Absolute recommendation!

This is a lovely hotel in a very nice location. My wife and I stayed here in late August for a week from an Interval Getaway. The hotel is lovely and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We were on the 2nd floor apparently directly above the restaurant/bar area and what we took for piped music turned out to be just the sound carrying through - however the hotel immediately offered to relocate us to a higher floor and that worked just fine. The rooms were both very nice.
The only (minor) criticism would be the breakfast - it's complementary and that should put things in perspective. but the choices - particularly of cereals - was a little strange. The only consistantly available cereal was Fruit Loops. In fact overall the emphasis seemed to be on sugary and sweet. But there were nice muffins and pastries. I guess you could reset the breakfast offerings to include more wholesome and healthy options without affecting the budget.
Apart from this one area the hotel and it's staff were very very good.

Room Tip: £rd floor and up - just to avoid the sound carrying in from the bar area late at night.

Inn at the Opera is a really nice property, situated near great trendy dining venues, a couple blocks from public transit to anywhere in the city, and situated on a quiet side street so you can actually sleep at night.

The sole detraction was the mattress was more firm than I am used to, which is minor to say the least. The room was well maintained and very clean. We will definitely look to stay there again when going back to San Francisco.

Room Tip: Rooms aren't air conditioned, but upon request they will provide you a portable unit to use. Studio rooms are on the small side with limited closet space, but for a few days its completely sufficient unless you travel on the "prepared for anything damned the cost of 6 extra bags" side, so opt for the 1 bedroom if you do.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Inn at the Opera, which includes breakfast and at 3pm homemade cookies, something a little extra. The staff are friendly and the accommodation is good, we stayed in a small double room, which was nice for 4 nights stay. I recommend this accommodation and would come back. From the area you can take the 47 bus into Fishermans Wharf or walk, we did both, the walk will take about 45 mins.
