I find it hard to believe this is the best in SF. Recently stayed 3 nights in a " deluxe view" suite. It had a view of nothing but the sides of the neighboring offices. The room was ok, but incredibly, although booked for two persons with a king bed, there was no bedside table or reading light of any type on one side of the bed. I have never seen this setup in any hotel. Our room faced market street and even though on a high floor there was some street noise. Most annoying is was the restaurant. There is an influx of business meetings at 7:30 and although the staff tried hard they seemed overwhelmed. Never once was offered a refill of my teapot. On the plus side the gym was great, the common areas are spacious and the common areas are in topnotch condition. We were there as tourists and maybe this is not the best choice for tourists.

After reading both the good and bad reviews I always wonder how my stay will be and look out for the negatives mentioned by others. In my several night stay and having been a Four Season customer in other cities I can say I saw only positive points to report and no signs of any of the negatives. Starting immediately with the doorman and valets they were helpful friendly and very professional. Check in was quick and flawless with again the highest degree of professionalism.
Arriving late we went to the lounge to share a bottle of wine and a snack and found the most helpful waitress on making our selection. Wine presentation and pouring was up to the standards of some of the best local restaurants.
Finally even waiting for a taxi on a busy night the doorman called our restaurant to let them know we would be running late due to the taxi congestion. His suggestion and his duty.
If you want to visit a great facility with highly trained professional staff members, visit the Four Seasons. Obviously this is a well managed property for people who prefer upscale dining and lodging.

Its the Four Seasons thus it reall was everything I expected. Wonderful room, great service. All in all a great stay. Which by the way is what I expected from a high end hotel such as this. Bottom line expectations met, well done.

Loved this hotel. Had a premier suite with a great view (4 huge windows!) on the 17th Floor. The rooms were very comfortable. The concierge made our trip easy and took care of all of our reservations. We even dropped our rental car off with the valet, who took care of having it returned for us. Cocktails in the lounge and coffee service in the morning were really good. The gym is very expansive but only opens at 7 am on weekends (unfortunate since I was on East Coast time and would wake early). Walked to many sites from the hotel -- including the Ferry Building for Saturday morning market which was fantastic!

My only real issue with the SF4S is the limited internet access. Wireless charge is $16 per day. Other option is to use the business centre, but guests are limited to 30 minutes per day.

This hotel is in a great location on Market St and is in great condition.
The staff are attentive and courteous.
Great food and overall service
I can't fault this hotel in anyway
This hotel made my first stay in San Francisco a memrable one.

It's nearby all major attractions such as Union Square, China town and within walking distance to the Ferry terminal and I also walked to the Golden Great bridge although some may find this too far
