I stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas and has a pleasant stay. I have a deluxe king which was large for a city hotel room and very comfortable. The bathroom was fairly large with all if the amenities you would need. I joined the select guest programme for free and got free wifi, morning tea/coffee, free water and a turndown service among other things I didn't get the chance to try. Odd that the turndown service is not a given for all guests for this quality of hotel. I order room service twice and the food was very good.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays and they had free gingerbread and fruit which is an added touch. The location worked for me as it was very close to the location if a wedding I was attending. Walking distance to shops on Market street and around Union sq.

I would recommend this hotel for the location, comfy rooms, value for money, service and staff.

From the moment the doors are held open by a team of kind and interesting people welcoming you to the flower arrangements everywhere, but especially under the chandelier in the center of the lobby....real flowers that are so beautifully arranged (and changed often) that it takes your breath away. I felt as though we were in a cocoon of understated excellence. One receives an email making certain there is nothing more they can do before you arrive for your stay and checking in can be done online with just a formality at the desk (also excellent staff). A perfect location within walking distance of everything - and on the California Cable Car Line (you can buy a pass for 1 to 3 days for Muni and Cable Car for unlimited rides).

Room Tip: Interior and upper Rooms are the quietest ~

We recently spent Christmas Eve at the Omni.
The staff and hotel were wonderful.

Two negatives, we went to the in house restaurant for breakfast 2 minutes after the closing time, and when we asked the gentlemen if we could have breakfast, he said no we closed 2 minutes ago.

This young man needs to be better trained.

We also requested a quiet room with a view and were given a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the entrance at the end of the hall. This was disappointing.

Since the dining room was booked, we went to Ozumo's and had a nice dinner, totaling $700 for my wife, her mother and myself, so money was not the issue.

We will still come back since everything else was great.

Room Tip: I do not know which rooms are better only that if you ask for a nice room, they put you in a less th...

We stayed one night, Christmas night, at this hotel. The valet parker took our car to a parking place--which cost $60 for 24 hours!--just too much! If you could get here by BART, bus, shuttle, or taxi you would be better off!! Once inside, the lobby was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The check-in-and-out staff was extremely helpful, offering a map showing places to eat and how to return to the freeway. The room was mostly quiet, with a minimal view. The pluses were its large size, cleanliness, outstanding bathroom filled with little useful "treats," comfortable beds, numerous snacks to eat (for a fee), and free morning newspaper. The hotel was within walking distance of the financial district and Chinatown.

Staying at this hotel was one of the highlights of my trip, everything about it was amazing!

Considering the price of the hotel which was very reasonable and the location you really could not go wrong. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, especially the door man who I left quite a big tip and a huge thank you before I left. The rooms were clean and it was great value for money, if you ever go to San Fran this hotel is a must!

The SF Omni is well situated, walking distance to the Ferry Building, ChinaTown, and all Financial District locations. The lobby and room were well maintained and spacious for an urban, older property. The cable cars run outside the door, and bus service on Market Street is a reasonable walk. Omni hotel club users do benefit from free daily morning room service beverage (no coffee pots in rooms) and free newspapers and bottled water. The staff was very friendly and gracious. We enjoyed being away from the tourist vibe around Union Square, yet within a reasonable walk to most SF attractions. Very safe, very pleasant. A classic. Rates are highly variable!!! Restaurant is very expensive and had a business/expense account vibe. We did not eat there.

From arrival to all the little details...the staff is well trained and friendly. Even the housekeeper was super friendly. That tells me that there is training and the staff actually enjoy their jobs.
The Nespresso coffee machine was a nice touch. The fitness facilities are newer and pretty run of the mill ...but nice. The thing that makes this hotel...is the service. I don't remember mentioning that it was a special occasion..but Yulia sent us champagne and chocolate strawberries. The kind of attention to detail is similar to the 5 star hotels I have stayed in.
Another item is the cleanliness of the room. During our stay it was impeccable.

Room Tip: Higher floors give you some city views.
