they know how to fry! had the oyster po boy and the fried chicken and the beignets.....plus the gumbo. everything was delicious. they use Leidenheimer bread for their po boys - it doesn't overwhelm the fillings - the oysters were crunchy and very flavorful - the half po boy had 3 oysters - but they were pretty big and the sandwich was tasty enough ..... the fried chicken had some nice crunch and was steaming hot and juicy.loved the gumbo - complex smoky flavors with lots of ingredients: sausage, crab, shrimp, oyster .....with rice. finished with the beignets - hot and smothered with powdered sugar - a good ending! I'll be back!

The bread was perfect- light, airy and crispy on the outside. Oysters of just the right size for frying and perfectly done. Hot sausage with the exactly right taste I was in food heaven!

The fried oysters were terrific - nice crispy exterior, and moist and tender on the inside. The fried chicken was also good: crispy exterior -- with just the right amount of spice -- and moist chicken inside. We picked-up a fairly large order for 6 of us to eat while watching Game 5 of the World Series, and the food stayed crispy even after traveling in steamy containers. It came with fries that were standard, but the hush puppies were good (even though I am not a huge hush puppy fan). The tables and seating are fast food-like, but the staff were efficient and pleasant. It is hard to find parking, and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy, so a driver with a passenger for take-out is a great option. Call and pre-order 15 minutes before pick-up. PS - Giants won.

The place to go for authentic po' boys, gumbo, jambalaya, beignets... and for Thanksgiving, the best deep fried turkey you'll ever have.
