Description: HECHO is a Japanese restaurant and Tequila bar that offers traditional sushi and Robata grill fare alongside a long lineup of small batch specialty Tequilas and seasonal sakes. Restaurateur Joseph Manzare combined his two food and beverage favorites (sushi and Tequila) and built HECHO’s concept around their shared parallels – refined, clean flavors, best expressed in their most primitive and pure states. The 140-seat, two-story space is laid out in an accommodating arrangement of a street-level sushi bar and lounge area, and an upper level dining room that includes a communal table and private dining room. San Francisco design company Zack | deVito utilized elements from Japan, Mexico, and San Francisco to create a welcoming and inspired setting which features Japanese prints, Mexican-style bar stools, and soft shades of green.

“Muy Yuuryou!!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This place kicks!! I award it with a "Muy" (Spanish/Mexican for much) "Yuuryou" (Japanese for excellent) badge. That's because it combines the best of Mexico (tequila) with the best of Japan (sushi) under the management of genius Joseph Manzare. Joseph's genius is not only in his inspiration (sushi & tequila, his faves), it is also in the restaurant's design (so cool/so green/
so comfortable) and his selection of chef: the great Sachio Kojima. Joseph was able to lure Sachio out of retirement and into Hecho's kitchen. What a coup! (Bauer upped his rating to 2.5 stars upon Sachio's arrival, but it belonged there all along.). But it doesn't end there. His GM, Mendoza, concocts a killer fired-up spicy margarita. This "recovering sushi-holic" of over 4 decades is addicted to the place. Don't let the cheapskate reviewers (too expensive) scare you off. The full experience is worth twice the fare!

“Best SUSHI ever!”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

What a treasure! We decided on eating at this sushi restaurant because it was conveniently loacated next door to our hotel - and we are SO glad we did. We love sushi, and Hecho had the freshest food we have tasted! Their sushi chefs have a real knack for creating excellence, both in presentation and food quality. Couldn't stop eating! The table next to us had a 4-some of Japanese business men who got there before us, and ate throught the entire menu, staying after we left ... the food is incredible. But there's more! The owner has a love of tequila, and they have concocted some intense drinks that pair incredibly well with the food. If you are in San Francisco, and love sushi, this is the place! Added bonus: the chefs are friendly, the owner was around on our second visit and we got to chat with him, and share a shot of tequila. Really a great place.

“Burnt Eggs and Inedible Food”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

Like others I stayed at the Galleria Park Hotel, and had the voucher. The fried eggs were burnt to a crisp, the room service dinner i ordered was nothing like the description on the menu. The waiter was very friendly - that's the one star. But the food pretty miserable, the place smells unpleasant. Just all around not a great experience.

“Great in the restaurant, room service, not so much”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

Dine in and have a tequila drink. Really enjoyable, but I don't recommend them for room service at the adjacent hotel. Tried twice and both times the orders were wrong, took forever and food was cold.
