“great thai food”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

I read another review that complained that the food was not "authentic". Who cares!? It was delicious! The soft-shell crab was fabulous. The curried duck was, as well. If you want "authentic" go to Thailand. When a cook can take local ingredients, and apply the tachniques of Thai cooking to make a great dish, I won't ask for more. The service was friendly and efficient. I'm going back soon as I can.

“Not authentic Thai food”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

The only thing authentically Thai at Sweet Lime was the service. I know Thai cooking well, having attended several cooking courses in Chiang Mai and visited Thailand numerous times. My first clue was spotting a lamb dish on the menu - this is the first time I have ever seen lamb in a Thai restaurant. We ordered Pad Thai, Mussaman Curry Beef and Roast Duck in Sweet & Sour sauce. The Pad Thai was made with the wrong kind of noodles - more like round spaghetti than the flat rice noodle that is traditional. It was loaded with broccoli and lacked tamarind or crushed peanuts. The Mussaman was thin and bland - not the creamy, flavorful spicy curry it should be. The duck was roasted to a soft and chewy texture - how do you cook a duck that don't have a crispy skin, anyway? There was not a Thai vegetable or spice in the dish, which was heavy on green peppers. In all three dishes there was a single hint of Thai chills - good for the Pad Thai but sorely missing in the other two dishes.

“Top thai”
Reviewed April 13, 2011

On a family holiday to San Francisco went to Sweet Lime Thai restaurant with three children aged 10,8 and 6 and, although the place was not large, the staff and management could not have been more obliging and helpful. The food was excellent.
