Almost feel you are in Europe. Staff is very efficient. The room is lovely. It's the sister restaurant to Quince (I must go there next time I'm in San Francisco). We had a light lunch. It's very expensive but the Salad was stupendous and the Tortellini were perfect. Wine's by the glass excellent. Espresso almost perfect.

I had lunch here with my son yesterday we shared a pizza (margarita not what it is called on the menu) and it was close to perfect with a crisp crust fresh basil a smattering of a very good tomato and fabulous cheese applied sparingly, if you closed your eyes while eating it you could have been in Italy. We then shared a field mushroom and corn concoction which reminded me I was in California. It was delicious and remarkably tasty. I had an expresso to finish my meal with came with a tiny biscotti. This is definitely worth a visit. I would imagine you need to book for dinner, try it you won't be disappointed.

Your wallet and your coronary arteries couldn't handle weekly visits to Big Sister Quince next door, but far more casual Cotogna consistently delivers excellent Italian fare with careful attention to ingredients. The menu is quite varied and whether you are there for lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed

Stopped in on the way back from a meeting and was able to snag a seat at the bar, as always an excellent meal, beautiful ingredients carefully prepared. I had asparagus with a poached egg which was delicious, a pizza with tomato and buratta which was perfect and finished it off with a light vanilla pannacotta with strawberries. A great and unexpected meal.

This is an Italian restaurant with a creative menu so that you get unique items. It is vegetarian friendly. We had the Strozzapreti, & the Fettuccine, along with Focaccia & liked them all. The seating is limited. Parking can be tight as with any place in San Francisco.
