Since there are sooooo many good things on the menu, go with friends who want to share! Had lunch here...small quaint spot where a reservation is a must with a James Beard award winning chef. The focaccia bread is wonderful as is the burratta appetizer. Service was first rate..very helpful. We tried an inventive pizza with nettles, pork loin, and 2 different pastas...all excellent. Save room for dessert too! Definitely want to come back and try dinner at Cotogna!!

Shared a birthday lunch yesterday at Cotogna and was not disappointed. I had been hearing about this restaurant from my coworkers for months but it's very hard to get a reservation. I finally was successful! It's small and rustic but the food is first-class. The pizzas and pastas are heavenly and the focaccia bread is so good we all had seconds. Our waiter was wonderful...helpful and prompt without being obtrusive. Great restaurant for a definite return visit.

I enjoyed happy hour at Cotogna on New Year's Eve. My brother and I strolled in about 5:30 PM and were warmly greeted and assigned a VIP table. The interior is well lit and I liked the large windows with views of the street outside. We ordered a bottle of wine and variety of happy hour specials (Lobster Roll, Pizzinas). All were excellent. ESpecially the suasage and fennel pizzina. The service from the wait staff was top notch. It was a great way to start the night's celebration. If you're staying at the Omni, take the short walk over and indulge. Order a bottle of wine and a pizza. Tell them KyTMoney sent ya and maybe they'll give you my VIP table.

This "Cal-Ital" (my own invention) is located in the financial district, in a small but nice space. There is a reason this chef just won "best chef in the pacific" from James Beard. Being a huge Urchin fan, I saw an Uni crostini and new this was going to be great. I had the Gnocci with escarole and duck..it was fab. The gnocci was perfect, not too doughy and not too firm. The food is very inventive but still features a few classic menu items. There hand rolled pasta is amazing! Wine list features California and Italian varietals. The service was great and the price VERY reasonible for the quality. LOVED IT

Cotogna has become one of my favorite Italian restaurant in the city.
Everything about this place is excellent , except that it is hard to get in.
