“Get the whimsy”
Reviewed June 29, 2014 via mobile

Went to this bar because of an article in GQ and almost left because it was so packed and there was no space. We are glad we stuck it out, the bartenders whimsy(which means you leave it up to the bartender to come up with a creative concoction , they will only ask your choice between gin, whiskey or tequila) is worth the trip alone. All in all a great atmosphere with amazing drinks. There was a jazz band providing live music which were told is not all the time, so make sure to check it out when that's going on. Lots of locals, so not a typical tourist trap!

“Wow!”
Reviewed June 3, 2014 via mobile

We went by and saw this place from outside and we just had to go in and get a drink. We DIDNT regret it at all! One of the best cocktails I've ever had. The bartender Seth told us there where free lunch the day after if you bought 2 drinks or beer, so we went back for lunch the next day. But the prix fix menu sounded soo much better than the free lunch and it was! It was a foodgasm in your mouth follow by a fantastic cocktail. I can really recommend it :)

“Jonny, the best Bartender ever!!”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

After reading reviews on TA, we decided to visit. Jonny was the most knowledgeble and gracious bartenders we have ever come across. The featured shot/brew was Four Roses bourbon and Anchor Steam. He had a book on Four Roses which was really interesting. We returned for a final visit at the end of our trip, and he was just as wonderful.

“I'm home”
Reviewed May 13, 2014 via mobile

This is the kind of bar you wished was your local. We spent the best evening of our trip to San Francisco at the Comstock Saloon. It's got real history - a genuine Barbary Coast tavern, and tremendous atmosphere. You really do feel you are back in the 1880s, with the decor, the service and the style. The cocktails are authentic classics - Sazerac, Martinez, Blood & Sand. The service is attentive and friendly. The food is traditional and reminds you how good traditional bar food can be. No theme park, this is the real thing.
