Description: Zero Zero opened in 2010 inspired by Chef Bruce Hill's dedication to farm driven ingredients, combined with his love for wood-fired pizzas that have been nicknamed "Calipolitan". Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle named us the French Laundrry of upscale pizza, and the readers of 7x7 Magazine voted us "Best Pizza in San Francisco". In addition to pizza, our menu showcases house made pastas, a variety of market-fresh appetizers, and artisan soft serve. We also have two big time bars with a selection of seasonal house cocktails, beers, and 12 wines on tap.

“Zero Zero”

The food and staff were good. We did have some questions about the bill which listed the City's numerous taxes, fees, and requirements for employee health insurance rather than including them in the price.

“Nice but not worth the price”
Reviewed January 22, 2013 via mobile

Went here with a group of friends and shared a salad, two pizzas and a pasta between us. The pasta was quite small and nothing special. The pizzas were tasty but no better than many other cheaper restaurants. The two cocktails we tried were average - one too weak and one too strong. One thing I do rate highly was the dessert. We shared a build your own sundae with candied cocoa nibs, olive oil and sea salt and caramel and it was delicious. The atmosphere was pretty good - not too noisy and we were seated promptly and enjoyed good service. But I probably won't be back, unless it's to get dessert after dinner somewhere else.

“Gets you in a good mood”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

Sometimes this perennial darling of SOMA is a much needed respite from the hipster chic of Valencia St and welcomes you with a warm glow from its light fixtures that extends to the service staff. Bartenders know their craft and serve some great cocktails and help you get in a great mood. After two or three of them and some nice appetizers who cares if the pizzas are just a bit to wet in the center but otherwise nicely charred and topped?

“Always a Pleasure”
Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Our flight was delayed into San Francisco and all I could think was that I was going to have to cancel our reservation to Zero, Zero for that night at 9pm. That made us short one fine meal in San Francisco. I was hoping to get to Zero, Zero twice while there! We got in for dinner on Saturday and it just made me want to get back to the city by the bay real soon! Brussel sprouts appetizer was suggested by our knowledgable waiter. We rounded it out with some cauliflower too. The table shared two pizzas. The pizzas are all wonderful. Light crust, fresh toppings right out of the oven. We NEEDED dessert so we had the bread pudding with a scoop of ice cream. One person in the group had never had bread pudding...and it was love at first bite. Our meal was the least expensive of our weekend and by far the best!

“Great Pizza Good Service Comfortable Setting”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

We have all had numerous pizzas in a wide array of cities and settings....both good and bad. Zero Zero stands up there with some of the best. Creative toppings and tasty crusts. Service is attentive but not overwhelming. Beer selection was great! I would only ask that the amount of toppings would be a bit more generous and the pizza a bit larger. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable pizza experience.
