My wife and I were interested in trying some Indian food while in San Francisco. We found Ruchi was close to our hotel and gave it a try. What we found was fantastic food at great prices. The service wasn't great but I assume that was because of a language barrier.

My husband and I were very pleasantly surprise by the high quality and freshness of the food.
The owner as well as the chef are very hospitable and friendly. Their Masala-dosa is outstanding. You can choose amongst a dozen or so variety of masala dosa from all parts of India. The generous spicing of the food was never overwhelming but just enough to give the right aroma and flavor. The chef is always open to adjust the "spice level and condiment" to the individual palate. The Mysore masala dosa was off the charts , but the lamb curry is a must try as well as the coconut rice, cooked with fresh coconut and lentils. The mango lhassi, a traditional yougurt drink rounded up the beautiful dinner experience.
We are coming back. .

Very disappointed in the food. We ordered masala dosas, chicken biryani, idlis etc....

Food is just mediocre to bad. Idlis were bad, sambhar had very weak flavor and biryani was just plain and no taste. You will spend upwards of $25-$30 easy here and thats fine if the food is good - but here the kitchen and/or chef needs a big upgrade!

Would not reccomend. Period.

The owner is friendly though - but she needs to do a much better job with the food.
