So three years ago, we found this place while we waited for the nearby MOMA to open up. Great choices of tea, especially for someone like myself who wants to try as many different kinds as possible: there must be dozens. We came back this visit, and we must have gone back three times in our five-day visit. Great service. Comfortable couches inside and out. Some wifi you can pirate. I normally try a pot of whatever is a daily special or is in the big samovar out back. The menu has changed. Lots of interesting little plates and lunch stuff. All good, especially the vegetarian. The only drawback are the just-a-little-too-intense business interviews and corporate pep meetings that sometimes stray loud enough so that we have to hear about how much flair the new employees are supposed to wear, and so on. But, still, it's hard to beat this place. Go to MOMA, see a movie at the Metreon (we did: Ted), or walk over to yoga on 1st Street, or even up to the Press Club, after some tea in this perfect garden oasis.

Service was very good, but tea itself was only okay, and the English tea was inconsistent: tasty quiche, but with a bone in the salmon; dry oat scone but lovely cream and jam with it; and outstanding selection on the fruit plate.

Beautiful setting, can't beat it.

Great site for a tea right in the middle of Yerba Buena gardens. Sit in the outside if it's sunny. Ask for the full and delicious Moroccan tea service: an infusion which blends peppermint, fennel, black pepper, cloves and green tea. All complements are a perfect match: homus, babaganuch, sesame crackers, etc. Delirious!

Had a lovely spot of tea (no coffee) and rice pudding here while sitting outside on the couches soaking up the sunshine and surrounded by these wonderful inner city gardens. The whole place is remarkably quiet given that it's surrounded by the convention center and huge movie theater complex; but it's above street level - a kind of elevated oasis. Staff are nice enough but a little big city "cold" which is understandable given that this place is really in the middle of the big city. Very unique place; definitely worth a visit. Didn't eat much though, but apparently everything is local produce; the rice pudding we had was delightful.

Tea selection features high-quality exotic teas. Food selection is healthy with appropriate portions. Price is high, but worth it if you can taste the difference and appreciate the premium for healthy, organic food.
