So three years ago, we found this place while we waited for the nearby MOMA to open up. Great choices of tea, especially for someone like myself who wants to try as many different kinds as possible: there must be dozens. We came back this visit, and we must have gone back three times in our five-day visit. Great service. Comfortable couches inside and out. Some wifi you can pirate. I normally try a pot of whatever is a daily special or is in the big samovar out back. The menu has changed. Lots of interesting little plates and lunch stuff. All good, especially the vegetarian. The only drawback are the just-a-little-too-intense business interviews and corporate pep meetings that sometimes stray loud enough so that we have to hear about how much flair the new employees are supposed to wear, and so on. But, still, it's hard to beat this place. Go to MOMA, see a movie at the Metreon (we did: Ted), or walk over to yoga on 1st Street, or even up to the Press Club, after some tea in this perfect garden oasis.
