Thoroughly enjoyed the production of Camelot although some of the acting was subpar, and the "lusty month of May" was a bit too risque for the children in the audience.

The stage is quite small for which they've accommodate well with a rotating set; however, without the tall ceiling, there is no provision for curtains or backdrops.

If you've been to Broadway, this production will seem mundane.

SF Playhouse has been operating for over twenty years in San Francisco. They are a small operation but produce very high quality shows. Their choices are eclectic and contemporary. I love their new takes on traditional musicals every summer. They have recently moved into a new theater which is bigger than their old theater but still nicely intimate. I like that they have an actual lounge area for pre-show and intermission drinks.

We were lucky to get opening-night tickets to Camelot and enjoyed every minute! Bought the tickets online and got helpful and welcoming email reminders. This version of Camelot was both hilarious and touching. Guenevere, Arthur, Lancelot and Merlyn/Pelinore were outstanding. Beautiful voices and great acting. The choreography was really well done, although the swords and spears were too real for those of us in the first few rows. The theater is lovely and intimate; reminded me of London. Great location in the Union Square area. Kudos to the cast and everyone involved! It was a great performance!

San Francisco Playhouse's productions range from interesting to astonishingly great. Always superbly produced and acted, they are my number one choice for theater in San Francisco. Every play I've seen here (nearly a dozen) has been fresh, compelling, and were works that made me think and feel. In short, they've been everything that I go to the theater for.

The lovely theater is both spacious and extremely intimate - every seat is great (really!) - and the staff is so friendly you feel more like a neighbor than a customer. Highly recommend!
