Description: Taste some of the most typical dishes from Lucca that you can only find in Italian houses. Our pizza has become extremely popular in the past five years for its uniqueness, with a style so diverse from other pizzas around the city that you simply must try it if you consider yourself a pizza connoisseur. If you are looking for an authentic culinary Italian experience, you found just the right place. Baonecci offers you delicious and traditional entrees from a Tuscan menu and thin-cracker, mouth-watering pizzas, each one hand rolled for you by Mamma Stefania. Baonecci offers handmade pastas made fresh everyday topped with Stefania's amazing sauces. Everything is made from scratch here. You'll be amazed by the freshness and quality of each plate and you'll be comforted by the friendly Gambaccini family who will make your experience even more "Italiana"!! We know... Our fare is not inexpensive, due to high quality ingredients used for each dish, plus for the love of an Italian woman that puts her heart in every dish that she cooks for you.. As we say in Italian " non si puo avere la botte piena e la moglie ubriaca" "you can't have both a full caraffe of wine and a drunken wife" Buon Appetito!

“Great North Beach Italian!”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

We had a wonderful dinner here. The pizza is outrageously good. Salame with truffles rock. Hubby and child loved the lasagna. Desserts were simple and delicious. The wait staff was knowledgable and friendly. After several years away from the city, it was great to find North Beach as delicious as I remember. This place tops my new list.

“A must visit in North Beach!”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

Stopped in to Caffe BaoNecci as I was wandering around the North Beach area looking for a simple dinner. What a find! This was the third day of a business trip and I had visited a couple of other restaurants in the North Beach area before this. By far this was the best in all ways: the help, the food, the atmosphere, the price. I always try to stay away from the heavy tourist oriented places and this was the most enjoyable restaurant of the trip. I had a wonderful cup of zuppa garfagnina and a panino mortadella topped by a nice glass of house red wine. Without a doubt this will be a must visit on any return trip to San Francisco!

“My favorite neighborhood pizza in North Beach”
Reviewed April 6, 2012

I probably eat at Baonecci every other week. With the crispy and lightly sauced pizza I miss from my time living in Italy (prosciutto di parma pizza is killer, and if the boar salami special is available, don't miss it!) and a great selection of light appetizers and really simple and delicious pasta options, this is Italian neighborhood cooking at its best.

It also helps that the folks running the restaurant (most of them an Italian family) are always charming and welcoming, and the service is a nice balance of Italian casualness and American attentiveness.

“Delicious thin crust pizza”
Reviewed February 16, 2012

Small cafe with a very authentic Italian cafe feel to it. Not always the most organized with seating people who are waiting, but they do try to be quick nonetheless. Prices may seem slightly high for the pizza size but well worth it once you experience the quality. Pizzas are thin crust with excellent fresh ingredients. Prosciutto pizza is delicious. Salads are pretty good though seem a bit pricey for what you get. House wine is okay but well priced. Very small aromatic kitchen that you actually walk through to go to the bathroom. If your main goal is to have good fresh pizza and you don't need a fancy catering environment, I highly recommended this.

“Wow is all that can be said!!! The service, the food, the people over the top!!”
Reviewed January 11, 2012

We went during the day to see where this restaurant was located and to check out the menue. One of the employees was outside and so we were able to talk with him regarding the best time to come and the quality of the food. We arrived a little early and the restaurant was full, we were greeted the employee acknowledged us and must have told the owners about us coming by because they were so welcoming and we only waited about 10 minutes for a table to open up. While we waited they brought us each a glass of wine! Once seated it was all up hill. The owner came out and introduced herself and she and her son own the restaurant. They are originally from LUCCA, ITALY and we have visisted their city and loved it. The pizza was perfect, thin original crust just like you get in italy. I would HIGHLY recommend this local treasure and we sure hope that they come to Houston and start one here some day!!!
