This is a nice little bakery. The scones are delicious and the coffee is good. The people behind the counter were warm and friendly. We liked it so much we came back a second time on our recent trip.

Yummy almond brioche toast and almond croissant! Friendly customer service and a good place to get a quick bite.

We were staying in the Marina district and this was a great close location to have a quick breakfast. We ended up eating breakfast at the bakery twice. The first day there were a lot of choices and we had a sausage quiche and cinnamon cluster. We weren't in the mood for coffee and asked for water. Unfortunately they were out of bottled water so we had tap water. It was too early for all of the delicious looking cakes in the other case but they were tempting. The second time we ate there, the offerings weren't as abundant and we each had a ham and cheese croissant and split a latte. The croissant was just a little old (not as light and flaky as we like) but it was filling and delicious.

This is one of my favourite bakeries in San Francisco - the cakes are light and airy yet decadently rich as well. The ginger apricot scone is one of the best I've had (and I live in London) and the croissants and brioche bring back memories of my days in Paris. The walnut raisin bread makes a great breakfast treat, and the individually sized cakes are great for a dinner in or a party. The cafe itself is cozy and friendly, though it can get very busy and a bit noisy at peak times - it's very popular with locals and visitors alike. For the best selection it's best to get there in the morning as towards the end of the day the choices can get a bit slim (that being said, I've never been disappointed with anything I've bought here). They can customize both cakes and cookies with sufficient advance notice - great for parties!

Fresh, lighter-than-air breads and pastries and some of the best cakes in town! Among my personal favorites is the chocolate chewy cookie: melted chocolate on the inside, crunchy on the outside.
