“Great Little Bar for a Drink While waiting for Tony's Pizza”

We waited for a table at Tony's Pizza and had a nice drink next door in this cozy and friendly bar. The bartender was attentive but not hovering.

“Friendly neighbourhood bar”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

Popped in on recommendation from a friend and got a very warm reception from David the bar tender who also introduced us to a couple of locals who came in. All were friendly and welcoming and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. Went back again later in the evening and there were more people in so atmosphere was good and Sebastian behind the bar was great in explaining baseball rules without making us feel like dumb Brits abroad!

“North Beach Local Bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

What a great little neighborhood bar. Great drinks, dark, great lighting with a fun crowd. Super narrow bar with a great bartender named Dave. You have to hit this little place up in a hip part of SF. Everyone that sipped their drinks seemed to be a local. Nothing better than drinking in that environment!

“Great little neighborhood bar !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

We asked a local for directions to a different bar and he didn't know where it was but was willing to walk us the two blocks to Tony Nik's. A narrow bar that is seldom crowded and everyone we met lived within several blocks but most were either on that block or within a few. Super nice patrons, nice bartender and cool atmosphere. A bit pricey but most bars in SF are. Old School bathrooms with old style faucets and reminiscent of Rome, they are TINY although the women's is larger than the men's. Men's is about the size of a bathroom on most jets. Cozy place for dates or just mingling with the local folks. Not a jerk in the place.

“Nice stop for a drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2012

Cool little bar in North Beach with surprisingly friendly/attentive bartenders, considering how crowded it gets. Drink prices are reasonable, if not slightly on the high side, but this is SF. The bar area is very small and is immediately when you walk in so if it's crowded, it's hard to find a place to stand and navigate through people. There are some seats beyond the bar and it's got dim lighting with good music. Good for just hanging out for a couple drinks, in a non-touristy bar.
