“Maître d' RUDE”
Reviewed March 30, 2014 via mobile

First let me say the food was good and our server was nice. The main problem we had was with the Maître d'. He treats you like your a pain in the neck to deal with. If you don't want to wait for a table, call and make a reservation (even for breakfast). The Almond Croissant was very good.

“Great place for dessert”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

We were in town to see a live stage play and wanted to catch a quick dessert. This was a great choice. We were sat by a window and ordered 3 desserts to split between the 2 of us because we couldn't decide on one each. The servings were ample and we ended up leaving about half of the food but we were too full to eat more. The entrees that others around us were having looked and smelled great.

“Nice French Bistro Cafe”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

Cafe De La Presse is a no-fuss, good food cafe in a great location if you're staying near the Financial District or Union Square. Located on the corner of Bush and Grant, it has dining areas on a couple levels and generally, seating is immediate. The servers are straight forward and the food is very good. Prices reasonable. Rabbit in Mustard sauce is excellent and the grilled chicken with pomme frites is comparable to what you'd expect if dining at a cafe in Paris.

“Close to Paris”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

CDLP is well located on a corner near the entrance to Chinatown. The front dining area with its small marble top tables is very intimate. We had several great lunches from the daily menu with wine. They let us sit and relax while we watched the busy San Francisco world go by.

“European airs and authentic French food”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

The ambiance at Cafe de la Presse delivers a European feel. It's interesting to see all of the international magazine and newspaper titles. I loved the old European imagery and the food was delicious. We shared Julia Childs's signature dish and French onion soup too.

The service was attentive and gracious. Loved it. If I return to SF, this location is on my short list.
